Lacobond

Polymer-Modified Block Jointing Mortar for AAC Blocks, Fly Ash Bricks and Concrete Blocks LacoBond is a ready-to-mix, cement-based thin-joint mortar for AAC block, fly ash brick and concrete block masonry. It is intended to replace thick conventional cement-sand joints with a controlled 2-3 mm mortar bed. This helps improve application speed, reduce mortar thickness and create neater wall joints when the blocks are properly aligned and prepared

APPLICATION GUIDE

How to Apply

01

Prepare and level the first course

The base must be level, stable and clean. Set the first course accurately using conventional levelling mortar where required by the design; thin-joint mortar is best used after the first course is level.

02

Damp the blocks if needed

AAC and other absorbent blocks should be pre-wetted to a saturated-surface-dry condition. The surface should be damp, not dripping wet.

03

Mix LacoBond

Add 200-250 ml of clean water per kg of powder. Mix with a suitable paddle mixer for 3-5 minutes to form a smooth, lump-free paste. Allow a short resting period and remix before use

04

Apply a thin uniform bed

Use a notched trowel or purpose-made block mortar applicator to apply a full, uniform 2-3 mm mortar layer. Ensure complete contact on the bed and vertical joints where required.

05

Place and align blocks

Set each block with light pressure and align immediately. Correct line, level and plumb while the mortar remains workable. Remove excess material promptly.

06

Protect the fresh wall

Do not disturb fresh blockwork. LacoBond is designed as a self-curing mortar; light mist curing in hot, dry conditions can support optimum strength development.

PRODUCT FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

What blocks can LacoBond be used with?
LacoBond is intended for AAC blocks, fly ash bricks and concrete blocks. Always check that the block dimensions, surface condition and wall design are suitable for thin-joint construction.
Thin-joint mortar reduces joint thickness from roughly 12-15 mm to about 2-3 mm, allowing faster and cleaner masonry work with lower joint volume.
Use approximately 4-5 kg per m² of wall at 3 mm average joint thickness. Actual consumption depends on block size, cuts, wall thickness and workmanship
For this website draft, LacoBond is shown as >= 7 MPa at 28 days, as requested. Keep this number only if your approved QC result and TDS confirm it.
