LacoSeal

Single-Component Flexible Cementitious Waterproofing Membrane LacoSeal is a ready-to-mix, polymer-modified cementitious waterproofing coating for terraces, bathrooms, balconies, wet rooms and other suitable masonry surfaces. Applied in two or more coats, it forms a continuous protective layer below the final finish. Proper substrate preparation, corner detailing, coat thickness and curing are essential to the system performance.

APPLICATION GUIDE

How to Apply

01

Prepare the substrate

The surface must be sound, clean and free from dust, oil, grease, loose material and previous coatings that may reduce bond. Repair cracks wider than 0.5 mm with a suitable repair material. Pre-wet absorbent cementitious surfaces to saturated-surface-dry condition.

02

Detail corners and junctions

Strengthen internal corners, pipe entries, drain zones and wall-floor junctions with 100 mm polyester fabric embedded into the first fresh coat where the application needs reinforcement.

03

Mix to a smooth slurry

Add 300-350 ml clean water per kg of powder and mix slowly for 3-5 minutes. Let the mix stand briefly and remix. Mix only the amount that can be used within the pot life.

04

Apply the first coat

Brush, broom or roll the coating evenly at about 1.0-1.2 kg/m². Work the material into pinholes and surface irregularities. Do not leave weak, thin patches.

05

Apply subsequent coats

After the first coat is touch-dry, generally after 4-6 hours, apply the second coat in a perpendicular direction. Apply a third coat only where the specified system calls for it.

05

Cure and test

Allow the membrane to cure fully. Before tile fixing or final protection, perform a 48-hour ponding test after the recommended cure period where the project demands it

PRODUCT FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I waterproof a terrace?
Clean and repair the substrate, reinforce critical corners and drain areas, then apply LacoSeal in the specified two or three coats. Complete a ponding test after full cure before tiling or laying the final protective layer.
Yes, it is intended for wet-area waterproofing below tiles. Coat the floor and carry the membrane up the wall in the required wet zone height before fixing tiles.
Do not claim or use it for potable-water contact unless your approved formulation, test report and applicable local requirement support this specific use.
For two coats at 1.0-1.2 kg/m² per coat, plan approximately 200-240 kg, or 10-12 bags of 20 kg. Add quantity for detailing, wastage and any third coat.
