LacoFix C1TE
Enhanced Tile Adhesive for Exterior and Vitrified Tile Applications LacoFix C1TE is a polymer-modified cementitious tile adhesive designed for more demanding tile fixing work – including exterior floors and walls, vitrified tiles, balconies, terraces and renovation over firmly bonded existing tiles. It offers a controlled, thin-bed application for projects that need stronger grip and better working performance than basic cement-sand fixing.

APPLICATION GUIDE
How to Apply
01
Check and prepare the substrate
Ensure the surface is stable, clean and free from oil, dust, paint, loose material and standing water. For tile-on-tile work, remove hollow or loose tiles, clean the existing tiles thoroughly and confirm that they are firmly bonded
02
Mix correctly
Use 250-280 ml of clean water per kg of powder. Mix for 3-5 minutes at slow speed, let the mix rest briefly, and remix. Never add cement, sand or extra water.
03
Comb adhesive in one direction
Use a suitable notched trowel: typically 6 x 6 mm for regular ceramic tiles and 8 x 8 mm or larger where the tile size demands it. Comb parallel ridges in one direction
04
Fix tiles with full contact
Press tiles into the wet adhesive with a slight twist. Back-butter large-format tiles where needed to achieve full contact. Provide movement joints in exterior tiled fields as per project design
05
Protect and grout
Keep fresh tiling protected from early rain, heavy traffic and vibration. Allow the adhesive to cure before grouting; exterior work may need a longer wait in cool, humid or shaded conditions
PRODUCT FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
Can LacoFix C1TE be used for tile-on-tile work?
Yes, where the existing tiles are clean, firmly bonded and structurally sound. Loose, cracked or hollow tiles must be removed and repaired first.
Is C1TE suitable for outdoor vitrified tiles?
It is the recommended LacoFix choice for vitrified tiles in exterior applications, subject to checking tile size, substrate flatness and
the approved TDS.
Why not use ordinary cement-sand mortar
Tile adhesive is applied in a thinner, more controlled bed and provides more consistent workability. C1TE is designed for smoother, lower-absorption tiles and exterior exposure after cure.
How long should fresh exterior tiling be protected?
Protect it from rain and traffic for at least 24 hours; allow longer where site conditions are cool, humid or otherwise slow curing.
